10-09 First day in Cusco...lots of shopping...old town is great...many town squares...lots of antiquity...many cathedrals...hotel is beautiful and in the heart of town. My school and new family are not far from this area, so am looking forward to Sat when my new family picks me up....start school on Monday.
Last night I had dinner with two very nice women, a mother and daughter. They asked me to join them after I offered to take a picture of the two of them with their camera. The mother lives in Connecticut, close to where I grew up, and the daughter has been a pilot with USAir for quite a few years. The husband- father is a pilot with TWA, so it must run in the family. What a strange world...after talking about our lives, we all believed that my Dad and his family may have been evacuated by the husband-father from Beruit many years ago. He was in charge of evacuations at that time for ARAMCO Oil Co, where my father worked...."7 degrees of separation" comes to mind! Busy today looking for options to carry on with my Spanish after I return to the States...Love to all...
